She that whispered to the wind in the woods,
She that raised the moon from mountain top,
And she that ignited the flame of the warrior,
Painting clouds at dawn,
Caught within circles of fire and stone,
And dressed in the animal skins of pagan past,
She then sacrificed herself,
For the salvation of her captors,
And loved them as sister and brother,
They tenderly dressed her in white,
Burning away her pagan skins,
Yet they fought for her love,
And feuded with their neighbours,
Lady Liberty,
Green with envy,
Saw her chance,
She stole her torch,
And left her to dwell beneath red flags,
And crooked crosses,
Lady spirit,
Your clothes rot away,
Until you stand naked,
Yet you now show your true form,
And it is beautiful.
