Not the road winding to and fro
Could catch me then,
Not the wind,
Screaming through the leaves and snow,
Could hope to snare the steel and rubber fusion
Hurtling through the bend,

Not the rain, pelting In a ruthless flurry
Could throw me caution,
Nor the corner,
Flying toward my metal beast
Could wake me from this youthful thrill
Moving quicker then the world…

And the breaks, squeaky oily black, never broke.
But I did…

Wow. Love the way you captured the "thrill" without the
use of conventional descriptions or reflection.

..and that ending! so absolute!

uniquely written. It had a momentum to it that seemed to "hurl"
the reader with increasing velocity right to the very
blunt stop at the end. Excellent!

love the feel of this piece. makes me think of the days of yore :) ha. When nothing could touch me.... until my wings spread, my eyes were opened, and I realized danger was real.
