I feel so unhealthy in this
Like standing on the edge
of an eroding cliff
Trying to stand
but when I do
the earth
crumbles beneath my blistered feet

Afraid to move
Like a ancient giant
petrified in my place
Wishing there were answers
and time to ask
all the questions
a shattered mind might have

Someone tell me...
Alas, no one can
I know, not one
save for me and my soul
I don't want to do this
Stand up all alone
Make harsh choices once again

Ever balance on a razor's edge?
You stand so still
afraid to move
one way or the other
blood seeps from the wounds
Either way you're cut
Deeper than ever before

I wish to take flight
with wings I borrowed
from an angel I know
~~thanks Kerry~~
I want to fly so far away
Flap my wings to the rhythm
of the currents
which bend and flow

With these tears
I'll wash away some of the dust
gathered as I did tread this trail
Too many times
I'm weary
Ragged and torn
Catch me, please....if I fall.

I felt a real tug on my heart when reading this poem, my friend. The imagery and verbage were wonderful, but the message was very sad. This indeed was an emotional write.. I think the answers are there if we can ask the right questions. If the question isn't answered, then it possibly leads to another ques ion and if the trail gets
folllowed we may discover our answer. I just think we stop searchng too soon sometimes.

Great write, my friend

Will

dear poet sis, first I want to say that Kerry is indeed one
of the most beautiful and caring souls I've known. I am not
surprised at her "presence" in your write. She is so giving ..
to a fault!

Now, about the piece. Sis, this is (as most of your recent
ones have been), heart gripping. I ache for you and wish
I could release even half of the torment that you endure.
The picture truly says so much and the words that follow
are painfully relatable and intensely emotive. Even through
your sorrow and struggle you manage to write the most
amazing works and inspire the soul in us all.

Humbled and amazed. At your talent; your strength; your
perseverance, but mostly, your heart. In all it's fragility,
it is one of the most beautiful and gentle things to witness.

Here for you- always ~

~MG
(spreading those moonbeams down to cast you in a
comforting and gentle glow. Dream sweet tonight, DH.)

Sis,
I wont let you fall. This just pulled my heart in tiny pieces and brought tears to my eyes.
I feel you here and am so sad there is nothing I can do to erase that pain and torture that you feel. Wounded hearted sis I feel for you.

I mirror Rox,
I must admire your courage and the strength you have to even still "be" as you are ..... I just could not do it again myself......

I will try to be calling you tomorrow once Im home.

until then may stardust rest near your pillow and take you away to the universal play ground so you can smile and swing on the stars and kiss the moon beams

hugsssssss
Michelle

I've been too long away from your comment section, hun. My words are being stubborn lately and I'm too often feeling mute of late, really. Please know, however, that it is not for lack of wanting to be able to say something... not at all.

Rox is right... the picture does put there reader 'there' immediately. With or without the pic, the few stanzas pull the reader to that edge right along side you. The last three lines of the third stanza put my heart in my throat. Damn, Lauraloo... how I remember those feelings. You're right, hun... the cliff, the razor's edge... perfect metaphors. One way or the other, the fall is going to hurt. That is true. The scariest thing, though, would be to lose sight of the fact that we can survive it regardless of... well.. anything. The optomist in me (I'm a Libra, so it can't be helped :P) chooses to see beyond the initial pain.... falling to one side or another is not only when the pain comes perhaps, but too, when the healing begins. At least, for me, that seems to have been the case. Maybe it's different for everyone... maybe what's right for me isn't for anyone else... maybe we all have to figure it out on our own somehow... but for me? the teetering... damn, the teetering was the hardest part, I think.

Trust time, trust fate, trust yourself Lauraloo... it takes a while sometimes, but it can and does get better.

*hugs you tight*

~Snemmy

I too have often stood on the brink, It takes courage to admit that one might just fall. I often have picked up the pieces and started again . Great poem, nicely put together all the best from bern.
