(stream of conciousness)

thoughts ebb and flow;
splashing, foaming on the edges of perception
spilling over they
break.
the tide pulls on the pillar
upon which i placed you
the angry surf crashes, capsizes
(how easily you wash, in these waves)
shatter and fall
sparkle and fade
lose yourself and scatter
like sand in the banks of my mind
filling an ourglass in which
time has run out.
(so you murmur as thoughts touch;
whisper
glimmer
and vanish
like only a memory can)
