Saving Love

Topic: LovePoetry

I can't seem to find my way out of this place
A never ending path of the problems I face
A darkness encloses on the fires of my personal hell
Looking back on it all I wonder where did I fall and how far had I fell
It's as plain as day, like an open book to read
It tells of problems and troubles, gives cautions one should heed
But that is the past, at least it is for me
Now I search for someone else's book so I can find where to go and what to see
I can't find the help that is so close yet so far
My eyes burned by the fires, nothing more than spheres of char
A voice calls out and light pierces the darkness
I return the call and a hand touches my tortured face in caress
Tears stream from my non-seeing sockets
As I feel my "angel's" auburn lockets
The light from her is not seen but sensed
It releases my vision from the cage it was fenced
She takes my hand and we walk above the fire
With each step we take we seem to get get higher
I let out a laugh so joyous and full of glee
She cocks her head, gives a smile and looks at me
In an instant we kiss and float away from the fiery pit
In that same moment a flame of love inside me was lit
