In my quiet moments when I am alone,
I search for the real place that I can call home.
It doesn't have walls or material things,
When I head home soul is all I can bring.

It's a home where my heart can be peaceful and light.
It's grounded with love and embraces me tight.
The wisdom of feelings are all mine to share.
Funny somehow there are no others there.

I can hear such grand music and dance like a queen.
It surely is home after all that I've seen.
Flowers with breath of angels fresh scents,
No mortgage to pay, no raising of rents.

My mind is the home that comforts me best.
Healing my body and providing its rest.
I'll travel home any chance that exists.
It's safer than here, no challenge or risks.

Oh ND, this was striking. So beautifully soft and inspirational.
I'm with you .. the inner self is the best place to be for quiet
moments and much needed relaxation. The world has
become such a noisy, busy place .. and there are times
when you just want to stop its spinning and get off, yes?

Beautiful write, my friend. This is poetry in all its glorious
serenity!! : )

A wonderful poem... when man finds his peace and resting place... in that invisible, intangible, inexpressible, unfathomable, within his mind and heart; then he has found peace. (home)
Great write.

FRANCO.

I couldn't agree more!
We know ourselves better than anybody, so it makes sense that in the solitude of our own company is when peace can most easily be found.
Lovely write!

I enjoyed this write immensely & I have to admit that in part it is because this is a topic matter near & dear to my own soul & that I frequently write about myself...

"And in my mind I still need a place to go
All my changes were there..."~Neil Young

I feel ya' on this flow. Great substance to this write that I leave your page sated by...

I can relate to this. Although I would also add, many is the time that when alone with my thoughts their volume can often make me wish for some other distraction. Be it music, movie, book or some other form of distraction.
My mind can be quite loud. Other times it quiets to a peaceful silence that is quite comforting. Home is where the heart is. Home is where ya hang yer hat. Home is... feeling comfortable.

I enjoyed this.

You're right, of course. Home isn't so much a place as it is an emotional sanctuary where we feel right and real and whole and strong - and yes, comfortable and at peace. It is the place where we can weep openly, laugh freely and/or just be our own crazy selves.

Home. There just isn't that tops it really, I'd say. Well... except, I imagine... having discovered that the one you love lives in the same place.

Nicely done -
