There is an autistic boy He rides down my street With a safety helmet atop his head And bright red converses on his feet He wants to cook for a living But I doubt he cooks well I’d never eat at his restaurant Now I’m dining in hell With a handful of old clothing And a blue visa card We travel the goodwill We manage the yard There’s a grimy old jacket for two dollars It looks good on my soul I’m going to pay with my ignorance I’m not in control Their playing ghetto rap Someone must have died over these songs Could living for something be something wrong? Go Army Come see me I’ve got some bad news Dead babies in Iraq are sending the blues Maybe if I stay here and shake my head angrily Their ghost won’t visit and haunt over me I got change in my pocket But you see, I don’t trust your sign You put in no valiant effort There are no clever lines You sure suck at being homeless Why don’t you just move along? Could living for something be something wrong? Dark glasses Black masses Abortions and crime You’re running a circus You’re loosing your mind There’s a president in Washington A Pope in old Rome Evil’s a friend when you’re feeling alone And everybody’s crazy I heard it on TV There’s poison in the skies There’s oil in the sea I once had a purpose I fulfilled it now it’s gone Could living for something be something wrong?
