i'll sway to music playing
Like everyone, i'm wooden
on a stage where i'll be saying

"You can't burn like me!
i see though eyes of stain
i turn to charcoal ash
then sketch the people's pain!"

pull my strings until i wave
to a crowd of painted faces
they applaud the puppet's god
despite wooden disgraces

she tore feathers from my wings
and poured tears into my heart
i'm clipping all my strings
cause i'm tired of playing a part

I absolutely LOVE this. I've been in the position, and i've been fed up just the same (well if I'm correctly gathering what this is about). You expressed it well.

WOW! Exceptional poetry here! Unbelievable emotion and
expressed in the most tortured imagery imaginable.

There is a point where becoming "fed up" as they say,
breeds so much emotion, that it bursts from our hearts
(and pens) in the most passionate display of agony!! And
boy, you have done WELL with that here.

Excellent, EXCELLENT piece.

As I read, I kept thinking each stanza was brilliant, but
then was followed by an equally, if not MORE brilliant one.
WOW! This was an altogether amazing write filled with
the most delicious metaphors.

Outstanding!!

~Breezy
