CLAW

SCREAM

....doubt......

Begging in my guilty hands is the ache of peace
softly bleeding through the cracks in my fingers
noticeable......

gasp lightly, light headed

LEANING

NUMB

what an ache to torment dripping guilt
potential incessantly taunting me

VICIOUS

FAILURE

cover the cry, struggling from tight lips
a dry and empty throat, barren of voice

DEAD

DESPERATE

to find whole such a broken mess
that was the dream

VOW

PLEDGE

unkept promises splinter in guilty hands
bleeding the unquenched thirst for peace
through tightly closed fingers that are incapable
of opening the barren throat from captivity
long enough to breath peace through the tightly sealed lips
of hopeless greif

OVER

AND

OVER

broken for love, such a deceptive potential
lying in guilty hands
dressed up with words to mean "peace"
yet...

NOT

OFTEN

ENOUGH

to capture a still moment of honest
intent

SURRENDER

BEGS

EASILY

warrior struggles through the mess of dreams
reality is a cold dish, best choked down with self-pity

DISTANT

ANGRY

I...yes...I am a shallow warrior
susceptible to many dreams
taunting dreams of peace
and being whole

SHACKLED

REALITY

and

then

......dOuBt......

though not a fan of all caps, i felt the usage was appropriate. god, it's so good to read something that is good to read...don't know if that made any sense to you, but all told, this is a really good write.

This was a very impressive display of what feels like modern spoken word poetry. It is highly emotional and I can hear my own mouth recite this with ease. I would love to hear your reciting of it. Though sharing it only with words is enough for the reader to pull out the strength within.
