I never thought my life
would have any meaning.
My life was going nowhere
in a big hurry.
I was failing in school,
my parents were giving me trouble,
even my friends didn't want
anything to do with me.
I figured that since my life
was so bad,
that it couldn't get
any worse...
I was wrong.
Things went from bad
to worse.
Everybody and everything
that I ever cared about
was slipping away from me,
and I couldn't do a thing
about it.
Then I overheard
a kid talking,
he said that he had
the same problems
as me.
But he had a better solution.
Where mine was to end everything
right here and now,
his was talking to someone.
He said that learning
that God cares about us
and takes care of us,
no matter what,
really helped him
get his life
back together.
I figured, what the heck,
my life couldn't get
any worse,
so I decided to go
to church
to talk to someone.
And that one talk
changed my life.
The priest gave me
a shoulder to cry,
let me get out everything
that I had kept
bottled up inside
for so long.
I learned that God
was forgiving
and that I could make
a fresh start
for myself.
As I look back
to that moment,
I know
that I've learned
that the greatest gift
that God gave us
was faith. [comments] => 1 [counter] => 241 [topic] => 11 [informant] => MrWrite [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => ChristianPoetry )

Amen you learned a good lesson. My faith is the only thing that has gotten me this far in life. May God bless you.
