I mean that when you're having a down day, I promise to be near to help you stand. Even if you can't seem to run away, You can step on me to escape the sand. When your eyes are overflowing with tears, And the world seems blurry in coming night, I will take your tears so you can see clear, Hiding them far from you and from the light. If there is pain you have to endure, I'll sympathize and empathize with you. I won't rest until I have found a cure, Because I'll feel the same hurt that you do. Suppose you think I don't pay attention, Like I'm always off in my own small world, Then I'm so sorry I didn't mention, It's about one girl, and you are that girl. Everything you say I keep close to me, Not scarred on me, or set in psychic stone, And not even burned in my memory, But in my soul, as if I'd always known. Believe in me as I believe in you, Find it in your heart to be mine always, Take what you need from me and I'll give too, Because loving you gives hope to my days.
