inmate number 51...
in this psychosphere
dailey routines dominate
and when
I have the need to communicate
there is no one who understands
the things I have to say.

Looking for something to believe in
I stay around
when everyone else is leaving,
fascination is fading
depression is in the shadows
patiently waiting.
In lifes amusement park
the carousel
spins me round and round
I fall in slow motion
as the ride breaks down,
I'm down I'm up
I am hanging tough
I'm in and I'm out
sometimes I just don't get enough.

[Conversating with a chaos lord]
*What is your name?
umm my name is anthony
no no no your name is inmate 51
oh ok
and what will you do today?
Umm I thought I just chill
wrong here have some pain
oh no oh noooooooo!!!!!!*

I am inmate
number 51
a captive in the audience
until the routine is done.
In silence
I burn
cause the pressure is so strong,
as I search and I search
for a place to belong.

Bravo. I like this write. It reflects those thoughts and processes of getting over that hill. We look for the new amusements in life for heaven knows we have tried about everything up to now. Poetry is a great way to share all that maturity and wisdom so I am so glad your on here poeting with us .Good write.

Aww... sad, but with a funny presentation. I couldn't help but think as i read this "It's a good thing he didn't come up with 'Area 51' first." Then the image of men in their fifties running weird experiments on space aliens came next, followed by more laughter.

Anyway, don't let that stuff slow you down. As tired and worn as you might feel, it's only going to get worse over the next 20, 30, 40 years, so you might as well have fun now, while you're still young.

Wow! What a concept! Imprisoned inside of age ... what
a tragic thought. (That is why I seldom share mine .. I
reFUSE to be placed into a tiny box of what it means to
be that age ... in a sense, enslaved!)

The young are reckless, disrespectful and apathetic. The
old are boring, unimaginative and uncool. Will we ever
get to a point where we just are who we are? regardless of age?

wonderful write. Perfectly thought-provoking!

Happy Birthday, btw. : ) (If it's okay to say ... )

~Breezy

We will all go through that when we reach the dreaded 5_0 so don't worry about it. This was an excellent poem
