escaping before sunrise
oh pleasant!
a mask
a fantastic disguise

scoffing beautifully
remarkably still
turning the events
alas the road trudges uphill

scarce to recall
the thought lost upon the stone
the smile etched there
forever is gone

vacantly escaping
what lies above
peacefully holding
to what was once a love

Flowers so beautifully stand
on what is
this hallowed land

whatever shall come
grasping for life
silence the drum
upon the terf
this is, home

dwindled thoughts
oh lost upon this stone
hanging in silence
the smile is gone

waiting to be found
for what seemed so long
breaking hearts
waking demons
bringing misery above the ground

oh these thoughts
whatever they mean
hang there in silence
with lack of reason

WHATEVER shall come
will never be so
hanging in silence
deciding to let go

time cannot heal
the wounds created
day by day
more aggravated

what time cannot touch
what losing will never win
forgetting the hearts
who needed an end

oh dwindled thoughts
HOW LOST HERE
upon this stone!
hung there in silence
gave up on what was life
forgetting love
just giving it all up instead
in that selfish moment

Love it! I esspecially like the way it ends.
Its like the words themselves die.
Ending the way all things do, in death.
you are very talented. keep up the good work. i will look forward to reading more!

Oh my ... Kandice, there is something incredibly forlorn in this, and not just the fact
that it has been posted as 'dark'. I can't get past the images in here, especially the stone.
I read this amidst distractions, and so came back for another, (and another). I am awe-struck
and almost broken ... your words are like a mirrored reflection of a soul that's been torn.
(and boy .. do I relate!)

I love your style. I adore how your thoughts escape onto the page so easily... and in a way
that is so damn emotive. It's like you reached inside my very soul and pulled out every thought
(light and dark) and spread them on the page. It scares me how you can do that. Amazing!

Brilliant piece of darkness, dear friend. (Hoping that this darkness sheds to allow a
little light to shine through for you ~)

(What's love got to do with it indeed, tina! Everything, I say .. how could we feel, good and
bad, otherwise? Wonderful write! Absolute perfection)
