[title] => The First Half of a Journey is Arriving
[time] => 2007-05-30 16:33:02
[hometext] => This is a poem about relationships, love, and loss.
[bodytext] => We met one clear, sunny day Slightly windy, if I remember An auspicious wind, to be sure And you, with your hair tangled, Cute in your own way Said things so normal and natural - A pleasant conversation But it was the look, the mind Behind the voice, Drawing, alluring Like a perfume fit for a queen. You wore your beauty At your wrists, drawing me in A pleasure, a brilliance, a relationship But Destiny intervened, noticing That things were far too good She said she didn't approve And it was to be her way So, with a fading of interest, Almost fleeting, The romance, Fleeing, saying "The first half of a journey is arriving." A shell of awkward Who-knows-its and What-to-dos Like another baby bird On the ground below its nest Our relationship Chirped for love And, neglected, Died.
