Array ( [sid] => 13476 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Tribute to Yanni [time] => 2003-02-27 22:00:00 [hometext] => I wrote this by the light of the glove box in the car coming home from a Yanni concert. This was posted on the old site. [bodytext] =>
I saw a Grecian God this night,
A deity enrobed in white.
Is this a demigod; despite,
or earthly paragon alight?
Noble he moved before my sight,
to this, but humble nymph's delight.

The breathing of Zephyrus stirs,
the sweetness of the lavender,
crowned gently by rose scent and myrrh.
The heart of Eros did astir,
the winged eagle of Jupiter,
onto this love starved passenger. [comments] => 6 [counter] => 311 [topic] => 55 [informant] => ThornMEngla [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => dedicatedpoems )

I have to be honest - I don't have to first clue who Yanni is but I didn't like the poem. Sorry - just my opinion.

Hi sleepless_siren,
Maybe you should put "YANNI" in a search and see who he is. As for my poem, everyone has a right to their opinion. I am glad you had the guts to put your glass on the table.
Oh, BTW - this poem won an Honorable mention in a popular poetry magazine in the USA.
Have a Great One and keep writing!
Diana
