Array ( [sid] => 134564 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Get You a Label [time] => 2007-05-21 13:09:57 [hometext] => I am in no way trying to make fun of anyone. I myself have a few labels. It just seems now, in this day in age, there is a name or a label for everything. [bodytext] => Labeling
It's what we do
Every damn thing people
Seek from the "norm"
Labeled
Given a name
A reason
An excuse
No need for alarm

It's all been done
Names for tight places
Reasons for cutting
Fear of high locations
Causes for slutting
Labels for being up and down
Phobias, anxieties
A diagnosis has been found

Is everything ok
as long as it has a name?
It can be labeled and tagged
Something can be blamed?
Is counseling warranted...
Maybe some meds?

Sit in the chair
Relax at the table
Spill all your woes...

Then get you a label.

Labelling..very much a part of our culture now, and it bugs me no end that people need to define everything and everyone.
Great poem,
Dom
