telling me ive been too secret
"dont worry about it"
i seem to have coined the phrase
nobody knows what ive done
nobody really cares to know
little do they know its beginning
beckoning at my body
to take another handful
everyone says "youre being antisocial"
"thats not who you are"
the funny part
the part i laugh at
you act like you know me
dont you think i know myself
a little better than you can imagine?
im not who you think
im not a little drop of joy
im not a sprinkle of entertainment
i have feelings
i have thoughts
deeper than the deepest lakes
deeper than the caves
that have grown over where my eyes
once were
and who am i to say normal?
i cannot speak the word
without placing a shutter
between my lips
i feel myself
drifting
fleeing from society
becoming a lonesome shell
but who knew pain felt so...

Loved this write, something we all can relate to as well. You captured your inner most feelings and gave us a glimpse of you.
Good write

A wonderful piece of sharing. Discovering self is a long and wonderous journey which never ends and who cares if "They" know us. Important that we get to know ourselves.

A preaching to the seemingly deaf ones... The ones that expect the sparkle in your eyes, and the smile without the hooks to aid you. The title is intriguing, there are some weak spots in this, but you redeem it beautifully. I'm actually quite fond of this.

"and who am i to say normal?
i cannot speak the word
without placing a shutter
between my lips
i feel myself
drifting
fleeing from society
becoming a lonesome shell
but who knew pain felt so...
painless"

The mighty crescendo, the last cry into the night, Beethoven's 5th Symphony... Wonderful. Keep writing.

A fellow hermit,

~S.
