All around me, mysteries
ghost and spirits walk my dreams
the skin tingles, knowing that
the world is much more than it seems

Shadows in the corners steal
my breath, and freeze my will to stone,
while part of me not bound to here
whispers ‘We are not alone’

The fog of thought that blurs myself,
the sudden pull of other realms
of hearts and hands, and force unseen
that comforts as it overwhelms

Just an inkling, all I have
silence and a stillness there,
A twilight place of souls and things
unfettered by the world we wear

I’m rational, beyond a doubt,
material in form and place
though numina are just as real,
a presence I cannot efface

Surreal in a world of real,
to manifest I know not when
though at my core, I can avow
these spectres will arise again.

Spike, I so loved the picture you chose to accompany this wonderful, mystically delightful write. (I am so getting into the pic with the poem thingy)..it seems to bring the words so much more life. Anyway, I totally dig this. I know there are spirits everywhere. "Angels, Guardians, Time Walkers"....whatever one wants to refer to them as....they are there, as we shall be, one day....that is unless our soul needs to learn more from this Earth and we come back as something else. Thanks for a great read, that made the brain do some thumping.
Peace and hugs,
Laura

oh yes, I know this to be true. I have felt and seen.

The pic is awesome as well as this write.. I am so glad there are others who know and believe that we are surrounded always.
A mysterious write indeed

Michelle

Dear spike .. yes, I think we have all felt a "presence" of sorts
at one time or another. You have captured the eerie mystery
of the feeling, but also an exceptional curiosity, which floats
within your write as well. Your word choices are wonderful, as is
your rhyme scheme. And the picture ... it adds to the feel of the piece.

You can tackle most anything and do it with an acute insight,
worthy of much praise. It is always a pleasure to peruse
the collective works of spike. Well done, poet.

Your writes never seem to disapoint me. This is no exception.
Isn't it frustrating at times that there really is so much out there that is beyond our grasp...our senses? I look forward to your next.
