Array ( [sid] => 134179 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Humbled Not Down [time] => 2007-05-07 14:00:53 [hometext] => I wrote this for a dear friend that had lost her husband to cancer. [bodytext] => Somewhere somehow I'm not exactly sure, my dreams lost there innocence and my hopes gave up their promise. Once not so long ago when the road ahead was lit and the path in front of me was clear of obstructions, effortless were my travels and tireless was my energy. Now the hill I travel seems to be without its peak, and the energy I used to maintain this journey is almost at its end. No one could have had me ever made me believe that darker skies awaited me or those I thought who'd always be there would have left me here alone, to face that which has me so overwhelmed.

Some have tried to have me believe that these circumstances and situations I face, will make me stronger. Some have said that all will pass in time. They choose to ignore the damage done to my soul and spirit. The sad times I've experienced never become a distant memory, but always haunt me. Answers to questions I've asked, look to remain unanswered. How have the travelers before me managed the journey? Where is strength found when it appears depleted? Why has love abandoned me?

I continue to search within myself for peace and contentment. I long for the love, that will comfort my loneliness with its warmth of heart. I yearn for the return of the key, that will unlock my passion. I know I must endure and rise with the new day's sun! I can't allow this road to dictate my path in life any longer. I'll accept life's cruel judgment as lessons learned and wisdom gained. I am a survivor, I will not give up this fight The seeds of hope, love ,and promise planted long ago will again bear its fruit in due season.

When the end draws near and my last breaths escape me, I will reflect back on all that life has meant to me. Remembering those who left their lasting impressions and the memories that still make me smile. A life that was not without its sadness, a life complete without any regrets, a life that love was given to all it touched! My legacy when I'm gone shall be the good things I represented, and the love that endured despite all that life threw at me. My life.............humbled, not down!
