Ben [time] => 2007-05-06 06:38:43 [hometext] => A poem not only about past pain, but also a quiet reminder that life is little more than a perfect deception, tolerated by some denied by others, but most of all, envied by fools. [bodytext] =>

Oh don't we all know someone?

who broke our heart

one time,

that memory of misery

that

unforgotten rhyme.

To sure we were

upon that day

when we thought love

was here to

stay,

to soon amidst the light of dawn

our heart's discovered

love was

gone.

For who know's not?

such wretched pain that fill's thyne heart

with such distain,

left to while away the hours

wilting weeds amongst the

flowers.

Ahh! that special someone

the answer

to our prayer,

that dream come true we thought we knew

has left us in

despair.

Of course we all know some

who played us for a fool,

love to them was but a job

and we were but a

tool.

Ben

A wonderful write on such a painful truth. But to play the fool is to know how to love. This is a truth atleast I live by. I find this work a most familiar piece and I love the concept of the fool. One I have written about many times. I really love the way you portrayed it. I must admit though I agree with you I am not fond of being called a tool or you calling yourself a tool. But, then again in a sense and in many ways we all are. I personally enjoyed the entire write "in spite of the tool comparrison, lol". Though the fourth stanza screams with poetic power and that was what nabbed me the most on this wonderful work of yours. Always a pleasure to read one of your works!

BRAVO!

Good write, Ben. I hate to think about becoming a tool to anyone....but I get your drift, man. It is a hurtful world we live and love in. ......what's that saying?...... "only the strong survive?" that is just crazy.
Much peace,
Laura

A wonderful piece to share for all who have been a fool and surrendered themselves only to be left with an empty shell.Excellent.
