Only to well

do i know the pain

now that i'm old and

bent,

life is that place

that drive's you insane

from love's

disillusionment.

A

grotesque portrayal of days gone by

disttorted by youthful

dreams,

to small to be seen by the naked eye

and to late to be saved by my

screams.

Invincible me

ahh! said i,

one day with the world i will

share,

to late i found out

what that world was about

the cubboard of life is now

bare.

Oh darcy chandler

i hear myself say again and again

in my head, there's no going back to your yesterday

for how does one live for the

dead?.

I feel my heart tremble

i feel my pulse race,

i

feel beads of sweat

pouring down my

face.

Slowly i watch the sun go to sleep

as the moon wipes a tear from it's eye,

as though it knows every secret i keep

and will 'till the day i

die.

Speaking of death

that final task soon to tear me asunder,

leave's me no choice but to silence my voice

ending this life of

blunder.

Glad you wrote this, I wanted to know more about Darcy Chandler, and here it is!
Interesting to hear the poem from a first person perspective, it allows more of a connection and there is more room for empathy.

Take care,
Dom
