That idol, black eyes and curly mop,
without parents, love or court,
nobler than Greek and Roman fables;
his domain, insolent..
verdant with foliage
down the dawn to beaches
and hidden places
with ferocious names.

Flowering forests that flash and flare-
remembering the girl with orange lips,
kness crossed and naked in the shade,
dressed by rainbows and floral streams..
and in my dreams
she strolled by terraces
adjacent to the sea.

Now it is he, the little boy
dead behind the rosebush
with his young mother;
though its flowers drone
and slopes cradle them.
clouds still gather
high over the sea..
formed by an eternity
of hot tears.

I must have read this four or five times just to get the true feel of it.
It has such great beauty to it....and such great sadness.
It stirs deep waters....

bro,

this is an amazing write, i think i understand it more than the average reader would, as several of the elusive nuances are more apparent to those who know you as not just a poet, but also as an individual.

There is beauty in the sadness conveyed here, as I almost always find is true. I loved how you ended this, its a very potent image.

Take care,
Dom

Emotions everywhere..... entire write solid and forthright but the final stanza sealed the deal. I love how your vivid images can take a person right there
