Array ( [sid] => 133987 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Garden Snail [time] => 2007-05-01 03:46:50 [hometext] => I trod on Three snails today .... completely by accident..... Then I wondered ..? What it must be like to be one! ... [bodytext] => I wonder what it feels like, to be a real slow snail
To ponder round a garden, and leave a slimy trail
To wind up all the gardeners, of whom most you never met
For all the world to hate you, to want to kill you! I would bet...

I wonder what it feels like, to roam around in morning dew
Not knowing all the trouble caused, and all because of you!
To be eating breakfast or a lunchtime meal, enjoying every bite
Then getting ready for a relaxing break, escaping from the light

Leaving devastation, when really you don't know
Just doing things you want to, going where you want to go.
I wonder would a snail change it's ways, if a gardner were to tell
Would a snail begin to please them? instead of putting them thru Hell?

I wonder what it feels like, I wonder if they care?
Cos a snail can't have much feelings, to do the things they dare!
I'm glad I'm not a garden snail, I don't think I would cope
But if I were, I'd be real nice... At least that's what I'd hope! Malcolmsdreamgirl, What a creative poem you have composed here as I never thought that a snail could be so inspiring. I really like this and I think others will like it as well. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful creative personality with us all and for giving us a little more of you which at least one could never get enough. You are so wonderful and your talent is always glowing ever so brightly. All I can say and hope is that your poetic pens ink is always flowing so your words of poetry keeps growing.

Your Dear Friend

how refreshing! you know...if you leave out peanut butter and a few dog kibbles every morning, the smart ones return year after year and you can watch them grow:) {same with slugs}
