And I’ve never been able to escape it
I’m dressed in an inch of ice
And death is calling for me

I can see you through the glass
Staring at me through these crystal walls
But you can’t wipe these tears
When I’m inside this frozen hell

It’s been five years since I’ve felt your touch
Four since I could feel my own skin

Our love was once like Spring
Mild and full in bloom
But it was like the breeze blew backward
I was thrown into Winter once again

You can shake this globe whenever you want
It will only cause a snow storm in my life
My frozen eyes can do me no good
Behind these crystal walls

My fist does no damage
But I cannot feel my frozen knuckles as they bleed
I need to break free from this

The Ice Queen in my Narnia
I reckon you will twist this globe in your palm
Causing my world to shatter into an icy oblivion

You have the globe, now bring the blizzard!

And as I travel clumsily and cold
I see a red light blinking in the distance
I move toward it

The object is deep in the snow
I dig to reach it and pull it out
It is my own heart I hold beating in my hand
An angry tear forms in my eye

This is one thing of mine you will never have again, I cried
I crushed it in my hand and saw your face looking at me from outside in horror
Suddenly your face was falling, down, down
You slipped and released the globe from your hands
Sending my world spiraling into a haze
But when I landed, I realized the blizzard was over
And my heart was no longer your puppet [comments] => 0 [counter] => 212 [topic] => 24 [informant] => Spellofnature [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LoveRemembered )

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
