One way to vent someone's pain
The scars are nothing to hide
Though they may damage pride
Veins a network of blood
Open them up like an angry flood
Depression, guilt, sadness
Agression, pain, madness

Anyone can cut
Doesn't matter but
The people who critize
Are worse than those telling lies
They don't know the pain inside
The thing they desperatly try to hide
Depression, guilt, sadness
Agression, pain, madness

I will try to find the cause
Despite what you all call "flaws"
Schools have rules against mutilation
They don't understand, nor does the nation
It is a problem we have to address
But don't think of them as less
Depression, guilt, sadness
Agression, pain, madness

Get rid of the rumors and of the hate
So they can choose their own fate
Put down the bloody knife
So now you can pick up your life
People are afraid of what they don't know
All you have to do is let that side show
Depression, guilt, sadness

This was a good poem. Strong shout out for those you care for. I am a former 5 years cutter which some days I struggle with it hard. I know what it is like to be stared at and talked about.. people who talk about others cutter and how they say they are so pathetic and whatever else they say.. Don't know what the hell is going on inside the cutter. They just don't understand. Good poem.

Take care
Christina

Heart wrenching but well written.
It's really good that you are trying to open eyes and hearts to all that can't understand.
good work.

We all live in the fear of the unknown whether we choose to believe it or not. We speak on behalf of our fears,"freaks" "why do they do that" If you really understood the reason behind it you would be saying"how very sad that they feel that is the only way to relieve the pain, I wish I could do something to help them" Your poem was very, very well put.

Keep writing,
Naomi
