Dreams drowned in the
floods of juvenile blood
in a blink of an eye, fell to
the ground knowing not
the object of the fall.

At ease were their parents
until the horrid word
of their offspring sprang,
to shun the shining day
light out of their life
forever.

Young scholars stunned stare,
and grieving kin’s mute cry
howling police cars, chaos
everywhere; will our
children ever be spared?

As long, as guns in our land sold to lunatic men for fun,
oh, fellowmen, let us get used these bloody run.

A very good poem. I wonder sometimes franco, IF they try and take weapons away from households let us say... THERE will always be weapons on the streets then if one comes into your home to hurt you. YOU won't have protection. I am afraid many don't see that. A very scary world now. I like how you put your words together . pure poetry.

My heart, thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. Oh Franco I have shed many tears my friend and wonder how another human being could take not just one life but 32 others. What is this world coming to. It happened in a college/school where children are supposed/meant to be safe.
Dearest Franco a very heartfelt piece which brought many tears to fill my eyes. Much love & blessings to you & yours and much strength & prayers to the families/friends of the victims who died in the Virginia shootings~
*huge hugs*

Franco, thank you for this. It is a most provocative
write... especially those last couple lines.

Wonderful that you could pen something that will ultimately
move hearts and MINDS to rethink things, my friend.

words are the first step to change. Thank you for posting ..
