Yesterday is like a flower withered,
Fallen to dust, trampled and crushed.
Today is like a flower blossomed for you,
With refreshing fragrance and stunning hue.
Tomorrow is like a peeping bud in readiness,
To see this sprightly world in all eagerness.
Yesterday is all over and past is past,
Irreversible it is, a day in your life lost.
Today, is real and alive as your heart-beat,
Waste no time; on your journey never retreat.
Tomorrow lies ahead your promising future,
Step in confidently to succeed in your venture.
* * *
Do not ever brood over,
Your failures or inadvertent mistakes,
Nor on your achievements you over rejoice.
Learn a lesson from yesterday,
From your failures and mistakes,
Let it guide your activities this day.
Plan well the task to be performed,
Do not leave any job unfinished,
To be carried over tomorrow,
Tomorrow will come, it is certain,
Unfailing as the Sun sets on the West,
Unfailing as the Earth continues to spin,
Ushering in day and night; but
Tomorrow we may not be there to see,
The Sun rise and feel its warmth.
We live in a world of uncertainty,
And our lives hang on a slender thread.
Never take chances, therefore;
Nor take things for granted.
Unwind and enjoy after a hard day’s work.
(Do not exceed the limits, please!)
Be good and love every one you meet,
Ignore not your ‘inner voice’,
It is God’s ‘voice mail’,
To guide you on right track.
To-day well lived,
Makes every yesterday a memorable past,
And a pleasant experience that will ever last,
And every tomorrow, bright and promising one.
Like an athlete on his mark, get set, go,
You can start your tomorrow,
With renewed vigour and energy,
With hope and confidence,
To win the race for the day,
And lead today and every day,
A contented life, full of merry and gay.

There are some wonderful words of windom in this.

I love the way it speeds up, then slows down, and all flows so well together.

I especially think the first stanza was wonderful, and the best part of the poem (even though it was all great)... I love the flower metaphor.

A great write, definitely something to look back on when in need tof a smile, inspiration, or just a bit of advice.

Well done.

*hugs*
