Tears are held behind the fluttered eyes.
Deep and shattered dreams internalize.
Love alive but viewing only ashes.
Fears and roads washed up, survival crashes.

Where can you wear the age of time and dress in style?
Competition rendered in your smile.
Head with ageless thoughts expand your time,
Dreams shared, mostly mine.

Grabbing to the depths of who she be,
Bent in worship at her forest tree.
Love for self must nourish her starved soul.
Capture up her spirit, breathe her whole.

A beautiful title for a beautiful poem.

My friend the spring of youth oozes from the heart that radiates on the body. An aging body is a Folly play of time; but remains fresh is your heart - young forever as a fairy.

Great write once again.

FRANCO

ND, this is beautiful write, I have no soothing words for this, the sense of urgency is buried in us. as well as love, and loneliness.
"Where can you wear the age of time and dress in style?" great words love this..Vincent

This is one of those poems that most people will either be able to say they've experienced it, or be aware that the time will come when they will experience it. In that sense it is rather universal.
It can be easier to feel good inside when you look good outside, but this does not have to be the case, let your mind and heart have faith in your inner beauty and you will feel better about yourself.

Take care,
Dom

Hey ND~
I totally echo Dom's sentiments on this my friend. People will either say they've experienced it or be aware that the time will come when they experience it~
Splendid and penned very well indeed. Well done ND it's always a pleasure stopping by your pages.
warm hugs,
dreamer

Me neither on the FOY thing, but the salve of middle age? -well, no, not that either.

Some days it really isn't enough to hold to the beauty within, even for us blokes. Looking good on the outside is a real esteem booster, and not to be scoffed at in a world and species where outward appearances still rule.

A very personal and universal post. Good stuff.

Hey ND, this was wonderful. I adore your word choices and the images
you've conjured are magnificent. I especially love the third stanza.

As for the fountain of youth .. well, I have to say I both love and applaud
the new dove commercials. I don't think we need to re-teach society not
to judge beauty by appearance, but rather, perhaps redefine what true
beauty is. To me, it is ageless; timeless; and truly limitless ... when my
grandmother was alive, I thought she was one of the most beautiful
women I'd ever seen. She had such a style and grace about her that
caressed the air as she walked and talked. Each wrinkle and "age-mark"
spoke of her wisdom, knowledge AND beauty. YOU are a beautiful
woman, ND. Inside, outside and all the way 'round. No need for the
FOY here. :)

Lovely piece to ponder, hun.

*hugs*
