It sounds as if there has been some unkind treatment to poets here. I can't believe that would happen here but this poet obviously is upset. I ask us all to practice tolerance. We all have different tastes so be it. [bodytext] =>

Fiction or real?
Guaranteed to make one feel.
Not always in the realm of “same as stuff.”
You read and devour until you’ve had enough.
Not to blame.
Not to teach shame.
Another who writes from a variant heart?
It may be a youthful and soon fruitful start.
Let’s open our mind and timelessly view.
The changes and words of our tenderfoot few.
To chase them away and not guide them to flower
Is ego engulfing and selfish in power. [comments] => 10 [counter] => 223 [topic] => 16 [informant] => needledancing [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 25 [ratings] => 9 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => FriendshipPoetry )

Nicely said
And we do need consideration for each others feelings, We are all here letting out our pains and love, trying to find the right words to release those emotions and find someone that can relate or atleast to enjoy.
As my mom always said if you don't have anything good to say...
thank you for bringing this to the page

I have to agree, although I don't remember seeing anybody being rude like some people tend to be on youtube.com. But very well written and a good point to adress

I agree with what Rhei76 said, if you don't like a poem don't comment unless you can give some constructive criticism. Being rude, hurtful and negative serves no purpose at all and is completely unnecessary.
Poets on here have such a variety of beliefs and ideas about poetry, and this forum should be used to encourage and nurture talent, which most people on here do. Unfortunately there will always be some people who can't seem to manage this.
Thank you ND for bringing this message across powerfully and eloquently, I echo your sentiment wholeheartedly.

Dom

Eloquently stated ND.

I will have to echo your sentiment.

poetry is like a flower bloomed from a poet's heart and every poem that blooms has it's own beauty, so one must learn to admire and appreciate it's uniqueness rather then criticizing them with egoistic motives.

Well done my friend you have spoken gallantly from your heart like a true poet.

FRANCO.

Great writing friend,
Personally I haven't had any problems here but I hear some get discontented etc. Being a voleenteer here any one with problems can im me and I'll see they get to Mick a.s.a.p.
I've been here since 1998 0r 1999 not sure the date. I've seen many writers come and go. Some tried to take me with them but as you can see I didn't budge.
Mick works hard beyond the call of duty to keep this home for us. It's home to me and will be as long as mick is here.
If you have problems, complaints etc. just p.m.
To my global family here,
peace, luv, joy, great writing,
emy

Brave words, nd, as sometimes it can attact its own criticism from the original critic. I've only really lost it on poems built on outright plagiarism or that are grossly violent or sexist - otherwise I'll leave them alone, as any response seems to fan the flames of ego. I agree that some comments are unduly harsh and mean to hurt, although on the flip side there is not much technical criticism on this site.

And I'll always have a tsk tsk for bad spelling, because it distracts from the bubble of absorption that you want a poem to create around you.
