i sit alone
slowly inhaling my cigarette
listening to the night

why am i not in bed
next to my beloved
who sleeps peacefully?
it's hard to sleep
when thoughts race constantly
through my mind...

the raven i have become

This is really great I also refer to myself as a Raven though under different circumstances. I love the way you brought it together.

Raven... it is amazing your identification with a raven. I have many pictures of ravens, vampires, angels and a great collection of fantasy beings along with gods and goddesses.I feel raven is also a true spirit of nature... this poem is very interesting. venkat
