…And thy Love defying the land, the wind and the sky
Clumsy Cyclops blinded by thy Passion's shield closes his eye.
The resting shepherd spares his flute and awakens the battle drum
Wise kings leave their thrones, at the sight of thee bathe in rum.
A glance of thy hazel eyes boils water of the seven seas
One breath of thee I capture but my heart I beg to release.
Flowers in shame faint when thy smell crosses the fields
Angels console the Moon for thy beauty pierces shields.
The crow hath visited me with his companion the fox
On Love they spit, cursed It with plague and pox.
Thy chariot by white doves drawn from the heavens descends
Thou break the wretched spells and pull me with thy graceful hands.
