Holding firm in April showers
hoping May might bring us flowers.
Thankful then for everyday ,
for every kiss and every gaze

deep into each others eyes
lamenting every sad goodbye.
Grown together ; summer vines
'neath the rain of Paris skies.

All the things that mesmerize
even those with wiser eyes
held us captive , deaf and blind
to the horror for a time.

Though sweet this dream we held in life
could not deny the raging tide.
The fist of war so cold and cruel
crushed the love of April's fools.

a nostalgic and romantic story of love on a day when especially during a war..only fools can fall in love.Yet then as spring slips slowly in, then too do hearts open and seek the loving care it requires.A wonderful write.

doug, this was such a bittersweet piece.

Beautiful in all it's tragedy~

Your flow was flawless and the emotions this
evoked from me were so beautifully sad .

timeless ~

I like it. It's simplicity speaks to me. ^_^ The tragedy that can consume the world has often crushed many dreams and these lovers were caught up in something much bigger than them. I hope you write more.

A very poignant tale and so sad how theirs and so many other people's love has been destroyed by war.
You capture the beuaty in the sadness very well and this was a heartbreaking read.

excellent concept. I always wondered how people could have children during a war, and I guess falling in love is the same. I guess life goes on and you have to make the best of it.
Cheers,
Tiff
