The rain drops pouring, creating a mystical haze Shards of glass, piercing my pale youthful skin The locks of my blond hair, wetter than sin Perhaps my fragility showed within my eye My translucent gaze, echoing a soul’s distant cry Some preternal resemblance of what I used to be My isolation deserved, with no faith in humanity The silence of the highway, piercing the hollow Speaking of my complacence, and doubts that follow The pendulous blacks of the storms clouds up high No consolation, the thing I am truly deserved to die The weary traveler offered me a ride Unaware of the killer I held deep inside Eyeing a golden crucifix on a key chain I then knew it all before he even spoke his name As he spoke, he seemed to think he knew God by name Even though the Devil was what he stopped to get out of the rain Puffing at a cigarette, blowing the smoke out of his nose This would become his last and final willful pose Driving around now in a new black corvette.
