Darling I will keep the fires burning
embers glowing with a constant light
fueled by this one mans eternal yearning
for the love that haunts my soul each night

Constant as the stars I am awaiting
there beside the waters will I be
with the purest heart anticipating
one more time to hold you close to me

In my mind you walk beside the ocean
bare feet in the white and shifting sands
promising forever your devotion
as you reach for me with trembling hands

If you are a dream, do not awaken
let me now and ever dwell in sleep
reality will gladly be forsaken
for one more seaside rendezvous to keep

Would you mind if I toss roses ?

I sometimes find my meter slightly off from yours
* I know ... we have been through this before ... at least once ... *

I read this line ... "bare feet in the white and shifting sands" ... without the "and" ... I have learned though ... with you ... it is there for a reason.

I just thought I'd share.

As always ... well penned, my good sir.

Nazzy ~

Ah a seaside rendezvous....Perfect..

Your poetry inspires me to dream, think and perhaps even write. Great poetry captivates the reader.

I can see strands of light awakening the sky and pale sand comforming to whomever it touches. Now my imagination is going on a binge!

I enjoyed reading your poem. Thank you, Thank you..

Larry,

Your writes forever and always have a beautiful ring to them. The melody is
sometimes heartbreaking, sometimes utterly delightful, but ever and always
do they fill hearts with emotion that not many have the presence or skill to produce.
This piece, in particular has a lovely ethereal feel to it. One can slip between the
softness of the lines and become totally emersed in the beautiful melancholy.

Larry, your writes never cease to impress me and lull me into a dream where I am able
to articulate thoughts, emotions, and wishes as beautifully and wonderfully as you.

Superb, as always ~

~Breezy

This poem is very sentimental
and tragic. I love how you are
able to describe you feelings of
loneliness and gentle misery through
a spectacularly well described
scene. Great work!
