Splashing yellows with reds on the tips of her base
And you'd think she were beautiful but it's not the case
No, she's a work best kept stored

I wrote her a letter, sent in the mail
Regretfully hoped the delivery'd fail
So she'd never know I put her up for sale
At an antique show for free

When people wear plaster, a painted on skin
I forget true texture, the person within
If I could drawn her back i don't know where I'd begin
She's been lost too long in the frame

And me, I wear my feelings
On the sleeve of a vulnerable shirt
And I'd rather not fake it
Then hurt, no, so go ahead and hurt

I've walked by a man with a million friends but I am not one
When he calls out my name I cower and run
For the things that he says are the things that I shun
And I know he shuns them too

He parades on blabbing his lies to the crowd
That began following him the day he got loud
And for the first time his words are allowed
His presence welcomed in

But these people are monsters with false promises of love
Sickly, sad demons pretending they're sent from above
Who'd take you to a cliff just to give you a shove
Maybe a shove is just what he wants

And me, I wear my feelings
On the sleeve of a vulnerable shirt
And I'd rather not fake it
Then hurt, no, so go ahead and hurt

Stop lacking true texture, I need you here right
With a fixture of unevens and irregular sight
I wear my feelings
I'd rather not fake it
Hurt, go ahead and hurt
Stop lacking true texture, hurt, so go ahead and hurt
hurt

Amazing, one of the best poems I have read on this site. I love it, so well written, so well expressed and simply real.

Blessed be,
D
