the dream, that paralysis’s ones soul.
Staring at a different world,
Everything that exists is powerless.
In the presence,
The beauty within your grasp
But a touch that cannot be felt.
Will you ever break free from the shadow?
Life’s wings flutter, ready to implode
drawing near is the calling
Fears about to explode.
You are here, but not there.
Standing alone dazed and shattered,
Worn and battered, searching
For the dream to come true.
Wondering if you could become
The butterfly, Would everything
You feel become real, losing
The numbness in the darkness.
Could you drift over the horizons
That parallel life. Change the world
That hurts you so.
Tears fall that are so surreal, love
Shielded by demons within.
Taking a gasp of something
That is just not there. Nor
Will ever be, will you ever be free? [comments] => 3 [counter] => 209 [topic] => 75 [informant] => recyclebin [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 5 [ratings] => 1 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => anguished )

I love a piece that puts a picture in my head. In your last line you ask- will you ever be free- It reminds me of the cycle of that butterfly going through the changes in its cacoon and then when fully ready emerging into that beautiful creature.
So much like living in the pain until we are healed and ready to take flight again with new beauty and ability to fly. Magnificent piece.
