Feelings of the weak,
Feelings of the mortal,
The mask of time bears heavily,
Upon me the sorrow weighs down,
I’d hate to become mere plastic,
But what choice shall I have?
A dead a lifeless heart,
Beating yet unfeeling,
It is my soul that experiences pain,
Was once happy and free,
As my heart took the beatings,
Now my heart lives not,
And my souls bares it all,
The abuse, lose, horror called memories,
All attached, chaining my soul to the dust,
Soon it shall die as well,
Truly I care not if it is to be so,
Perhaps for the best it may be,
Dolls don’t feel breath,
Heartless, soulless, face always smiling,
Dolls can not hurt,
They know neither pain nor joy,
Yet still their smile is frozen fast,
No one knows why, nor cares,
Dolls, beautiful and cold,
If my soul fades
A doll shall remain,
A plastic, empty, and cold fake smile.

Behold my only comfort is this:
People love what is fake,

Ironically, in reference to the last 2 lines, this is the most "real" thing I've read and felt in a long time.

Take heart, my friend.

Beautiful write.

Cheers,
M

Good job and love the truth of the last line. The struggle is separating oneself from the commercial vanity that is spoon fed into our brains. Personally there are many in my time with 'trophy' wives who because of expectation, become dolls that gravitate toward the role seemingly for security rather than a true vital exchange soul to soul.
Most of this ilk will boldly call out "Doll Face" can you get us some coffee?" for example without realizing what they give credence to.

Well Done

Peace
Yang

It is easy to be the doll face. The person who can express what is inside is the true beauty in this life...well done..lots of heart and wisdom shown in your piece.
