Array ( [sid] => 132601 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Do You Know [time] => 2007-03-11 20:29:22 [hometext] => this was from awhile ago... I broke up with my boyfriend because I just wanted to be friends and he refused to talk to me for 3 months because of it.. it was just hard thinking i'd lost him completely [bodytext] => Do you know what it's like
to cry
yourself to sleep,
three nights, out of six?
And lay in bed awake the rest,
miserable and cold,
even with the heater on
and blankets wrapped around you tight,
only to wake up with teary eyes once more
and live the day trying not
to let them show.
Look down,
look away,
but when he's not looking,
look up
at him,
and let your eyes linger
for as long as you dare,
until his eyes meet yours
and you quickly turn away,
but hope
he could see in your eyes
that you still
care.
And you spend the rest of the day
with him on your mind,
because everything you see
brings back memories.
Sunshine
has become an enemy
because it shines in my eyes
and blurs everything I try to see.
Stardust
is something I cannot explain
because I never knew, and might not
ever know, what it is.
Moonlight
is my cue to cry
because it's not bright enough
to show my tears.
A jacket wont keep me warm anymore
because my heart
has already frozen,
and I don't know when
it will thaw,
I guess it's just a matter of time
but time means waiting,
waiting means pain,
pain means tears.
Do you know what it's like
to cry yourself to sleep? [comments] => 3 [counter] => 632 [topic] => 48 [informant] => mesano [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => EmotionalPoetry )

I liked this. It shows in depth how an
average break up goes. And yes, I do know
what it's like to cry yourself to sleep.

Keep it up,
Karlee

I know what it is like. I can relate to this same situation. This was emotional and deep. well written and full of your feelings of losing him. Hopefully he will see that friendship can fix somethings and you will be friends. But stay strong.

Take care
