So onward to the tunnel depths.
Water trickles down the stone
Far below - the dragon's breath
lets them know they aren't alone.

Fear arose within their hearts.
The tunnel closes like a tomb.
Crouching low - they journey on.
Smoking torches light the gloom.

Amid the growing sense of danger
cast a spell to search for traps.
but woe , the darkness groans in anger.
Something wicked hunts their back.

Quickly then they must descend
ready with a sword and spell.
Dragon's breath of howling wind
gushes from the depths of hell.

Suddenly the tunnel opens
to the cavern of the beast.
A sparkling lake of haunting blue
rolled it's fog around his feet.

Turn back , the dragon said
and know that you have been deceived.
The heros hear a falling trap
that blocks their only chance to leave.

Fools , the dragon muttered then.
The heros beg him to explain.
You , he said , are now the pawns
inside the necromancer's game.

As he groans they notch their arrows.
Oh please , the dragon brays.
I shan't kill you little fools
although you'll die here anyway.

I was old , the dragon says
centuries before your time.
This cavern was to be a tomb
wherein my bones would be enshrined.

A wizard and a dearest friend
cast a dreaming spell on me
that I might go into my death
inside a deep and blessed sleep.

Then the evil necromancer
stumbled in upon my tomb.
He woke me to absorb my power
and feeds me with the likes of you.

So you see he drains my strength
to help him cast his evil spells ;
controlling wyrms , trolls and even
all the spawn that roam in hell...
