Array ( [sid] => 132306 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => Grandpa [time] => 2007-03-02 16:01:43 [hometext] => I just recently lost my Grandpa...so this is how I am dealing with it. [bodytext] => I sit here thinking about the good ol' times
Thinking about when you would tell me a story
You would tell me the greatness in your life
Then I forget you are gone

I think about going to the farm and see you laying there
Laying there relaxing, ready to tell me more
But then I realise you are gone, never to return.
My heart breaks.

You made me smile with your stories
You had the best ones always
I would just sit there for hours listening
Even if you repeated yourself...I loved it.

I go to the farm expecting to see you
Expecting you to be chopping some wood
Checking the animals
Or just walking, waiting for me to come

Everytime I think of you, I cry
I could have known you so much better
But I expected you to always be there
I never thought you wouldn't be there

Dearest Grandpa,
In your memory I will always find joy
In your stories I will always find comfort
In you I will always find happiness [comments] => 3 [counter] => 282 [topic] => 52 [informant] => iesha [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 8 [ratings] => 2 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => goodbyepoetry )

I am truly sorry for your loss. I too know the pain of losing someone. I promise the heartache will become easier, and though your grandfather's body is gone, his spirit and love is still with you. and thankfully, that's something that can never be taken away.

my thoughts are with you.

great poem, by the way.

Marisa

My friend, there can be no better way to say your love for your grandfather then this beautiful poem, he must be really happy and at peace - up above there from where he is watching you with the same kind of love or perhaps more.
"May his soul rest in peace with our Lord."
FRANCO
