1/9/50-11/15/02 [bodytext] => I remember climbing in your lap as a baby, Seeing that look in those big brown eyes, Hearing that soothing voice- Knowing Daddy was proud of his little girl. Years went by and I got the phone call.... "Daddy isn't doing well," was the heart-breaking news. Tried to deny it, you were supposed to be invincible- And there were still so many things we had to share, Still so many ways I had to make you proud. I stopped coming around as much For the weight you had lost, The pain in your eyes- Told the truth I wasn't ready to see. And as much as I tried to hide, Daddy's little girl wasn't doing well at living. Now those precious days are gone, Fate has decided on another plan for your soul. Your loving memory lives on in my heart, But, oh, how I long to see those brown eyes once more. So that I can help you undeerstand the distance, Show you how I loved and adored you, And see if Daddy is still proud of his little girl.
