Keep your age-defying make up and silicone
Keep your rap and heavy metal

Need I get pistol whipped a second time
If I stand behind James Brown and say
Black culture is not what it used to be
Its a mirror of a mucked up white culture
If we need an explanation
But, why can't they be better?

I'll save the California coast
The duck billed platypus for originality
The Statue of Liberty because I'm a patriot at heart
And jazz music
I can hear something a thousand times,
Before I hear the essence of the note
You can call this missing, due to a foggy windshield
Then. Wham! The big picture comes
All at once
I should thank America for that too

Bah. The America of the first stanza here is just the America that the media enjoys. There's a real America behind it, quiet but strong. Just look for it in the right places.

I agree with the above comment there is a real America in the depths of good folk who love and care and in the great perhaps this America will shed its united states to become a united world.

Further there are platypi found in the San Diego Zoo originally from western Australia and Tasmania and maybe if around in 1776 would have been chosen over the eagle. Thats if the pilgrims didn't offer them for dinner. This was such an out of place reference the begged to be addressed.

Lastly this a rather personal expression that becomes a cattle prod for where's the beef? Perhaps in the fact that a palpable hegemony, a technological-economic divinity seeps from these shores to all corners of the globe. However' clearly you have penned, a well crafted, hornets nest, in my immodest opinion.

Well Done

Peace
Yangdantien
