When I told the parents, they fell apart and cried.
I felt so sorry for the parents after I told them.
I did all I could for their son but I couldn't save him.
I've lost about ten kids over the years.
I feel so helpless when I see the parents burst into tears.
When I'm able to save a child, I feel really great.
But when I lose a child, it's something that I really hate.
I know that I'm not God, I know that I can't save them all.
But when each child dies, it makes me a little more bitter and appalled.
I can't save them all but I sure do try.

**Hugs** But you do your very best to help them and save them. Maybe fate plays a role in things if you believe in it. I do and I believe that when someone dies despite age it is for a reason maybe the reason is that God just says it is there time to go. It must be hard trying to deal with the aftermath and I can see that it takes a toll on not only the parents but on you as well by what you wrote in the poem. You tried hard to not let them go. Like you said you are not God but you are a person who can help change the world and you do. You help saving them and sometimes you have successes and sometimes you aren't so lucky. This was a good heartfelt poem. Stay strong.

Take care

My friend your poem is a tearful story of a "true doctor" and his outburst over his helplessness to save a dieing child. and well presented too, congrats.

(but friend I am sorry to say i have come across doctors who have been the cause for children's death.)

Sad write about children. Yes it is always more sad when a child dies for any reason.
