hiding behind this silly little mask.
I watch and stare as days go by,
just wanting and wanting and not knowing why.
When i finally speak up it''ll be too late,
because you will have already choosen a different date.
As I see you dance and twirl and smile,
I decide to stay here for a while.
Hoping perhaps you''ll look over here,
quietly sitting almost cowering in fear.
I dread the thought of dancing with you,
yet I want to so bad, what do I do?
A friend sits down as lonely as I,
to sit and chat while time goes by.
Without a word he knows at which I stare,
challanging my pride with the same old dare.
Asking you to dance is his challange for me,
but I''d rather cower, hide, or at least flee.
All of a sudden he pushes me to you,
heart pounding and scared, I don''t know what to do.
Before I could escape my biggest fear,
I see you motion for me to "come here."
The next song goes slow and so do I,
cautiously approaching and wanting to cry.
You smile and ask if I would like to dance,
I want to say no but this is my chance.
So I take your hand and lead you around,
but by the beat of my heart because it drowns out all other sound.
The dance ends with a wink and a kiss,
I realize now how much I didn''t have to miss.
You would have said yes if I had asked before,
but it''s all for the best, if not for more.
You see how I feel by the look in my eye,
that if I can''t have you now, I''ll just die.
But I see how much you''ve wanted me too,
so I hold you close... because I finally know what to do!

Awww! Very nice. Do I know who this is about?
Prolly not, but I'm sure the feelings are the same with every new interest in your life. ;o) This speaks volumes about how insecure we all really are in approaching a new person that we are interested in. Nice R&R. Keep up the good work!
Kudos and Peace to ya,
Thumps ;o)
