Birds with no feathers fly through the sky.

Silver streaks of lightening crossing each other in flight.

Birds bellies full of cargo of undigested prey.

The path they take should tire their metallic wings

Leaving earth the unnatural rip from gravity shakes the ground.

Unmastered, bumping through the climatic flow above.

Struggling through atmosphere, untraveled by their feathered scholars.

Mystifying the fascinated souls below who now believe we can fly. Birds with no feathers fly through the sky.

I live near an airport and feel this pieces righteousness with so many flights and smoke trails filling the sky the little ones say it best pointing up 'look we can fly?'

It had always been my fascination to fly alone all by myself in the sky. and your poem just spoke out my wonderment about flying. great write.

and thought provoking
knowing people are flying in those things
with metallic wings...
