just trying to escape the never ending pain

My questions go in circles running round and round
searching for the answers where they can not be found

I long for just one moment of sanity and peace
but often I will settle for an easier release

for everyday that passes I excuse with another lie
anxiously awaiting the moment that I die

I have so many questions I need to understand
like who gets to decide who gets the winning hand

life is so disturbing and hard to comprehend
that so often you can't tell who is foe or friend

so today i'll hold on with everything I have to give
hoping there will come a day that I will want to live

You are very right in the last couplet, hope that keeps us going, and it is this hope that gives us the strength to face the next day bravely.
Friend you have penned this poem cleverly optimistic.
FRANCO.

I can relate to this I went through depression all last year and some of the year before, you question everything when you feel this way, I still get bad days but got myself better by fighting back and one way was writing poetry.. You describe it just as it feels a really great poem xxxxx

There is so much sadness in this poem. Very thoughtfully expressed and very touching...
