a darkened bedroom covered with old thoughts and fallen dreams
sunken truths that spit in your eye
trying to picture different lenses
to sharpen distorted views
clouded with mystery a willow in the marsh
destined for indifference a spiders lonely web
capturing the prey that fall and the weak that slowly step
driven by anger and the coldness of the sea
dust ridden paths behind a crossroads if you be
longing for the spite i deserve and the fall from higher grace
to be torn and ridiculed to be hated to be stripped
to be open to the world and to be pure
to show that fear is nothing and we can live
we can overcome

A powerful theme with lots to explore and develop. Yes I agree wholeheartedly 'we can overcome.'

Well Done

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
