Array ( [sid] => 13175 [catid] => 1 [aid] => Mick [title] => Hero ! [time] => 2003-02-24 00:40:00 [hometext] => ~~~~~~
She was just an honest person
Who chose to stand her ground
How rare in these times
For not many can be found

But what more are heroes
What defines them the best
Is it not when trials come
They with honor stand the test [bodytext] =>

Hero

Today I read about a hero
A teacher who died for a friend
She died standing for what’s right
Anothers life to defend

She did not compromise
She did not look away
She stood firmly for right
In the center of Gods way

Now she has fallen, a hero
Though she’d never see it that way at all
Just another person
Who answered principles call

Evil tried to silence her
Steal her voice away
Ahh but listen now my friends
Her voice is resounding still today

For listen to the voices
Speaking out all over the world
Championing the courage of a hero
Whose banner of principles is now unfurled

Yes evil tried to extinquish her flame
That shone into the night
Aww but look at evil now my friends
It is consumed by her light !

Russ

We should all strive to be the kind of hero this woman was. through the families pain i hope they can find comfort in the inspiration that she has given to so many people, people that didn't even know her. beautifully written russ.
