That time when everything looks a little bit older
and everything feels a little bit colder.
You know. The wind, the trees, myself included
Sway angrily and shrivel to sweet nothings
Nature takes its toll on our hearts and minds
Yet this time I accept this burden that I find
For this weight is mine to hold and hold it I will
I've brought it upon myself the day I gave everything to you
For a moment it seemed the Earth stopped and time stood still
Until I was ready to live and life was ready for me too
Now I find that life waits for no one and especially not for me
For I have made a mistake and its a sizeable one, you see
That day that I decided you were deserving of my emotions
I felt a connection opposite to your "strictly-physical" notions
"Mind over matter" would have helped me make things right
I dove, head first, into an empty swimming pool that night
Hollow, without you, I see what I have done
For you are not to blame, simply because you have won
I'm forced to regret and criticize my actions and you,
You only worry about your own satisfactions.

lisa99460, what an interesting poem you have composed here as yes we are the one to blame for our own actions through the choices we may make. At times those choices are prompted through peer pressure as we buckle under weakness and sometimes we just simply make bad choices. I want to thank you for sharing such a thought provoking poem that is penned extremely well and for giving us all just a little of you. Wonderful job.
