Array ( [sid] => 131572 [catid] => 1 [aid] => mick [title] => The Unbelievable Truth [time] => 2007-02-09 13:21:59 [hometext] => This is dedicated to the late actress Adrienne Shelly. A preformer with such sublte intensity that was remarkable to watch. [bodytext] =>

5:45 p.m on November 1, 2006,
Adrienne Shelly
was murdered,
a star snuffed out in the cosmos,
Her husband found her hanging
on bedsheets from a shower rod
at her apartment in the West Village.
Deceiving appearances loomed
he had not heard from his wife
so he was nervous
especially when the front door
was unlocked.

An autopsy was performed
the following day.
The New York City Police
were suspicious of sneaker
prints in the bathtub.
Adrienne was found wearing socks,
money was missing from her wallet.
Everyone said there is no way
she could have committed suicide
she was bright, happy and dedicated
to her daughter Sophie
and loved her life & work.
Goodness she loved to preform so much
if she was going to bite the bullet
she would have done it on Broadway.
But no way in Hades would she
ever even think of it.

5 days later police arrested
a 19 yr old construction worker,
who confessed to killing
sweet Adrienne,
who gave her Trust
to simply complain about
the noise he was making
in the apartment below.

Afraid of being deported
but racked by guilt
the murderer implicated himself
by making a video
where he confessed he
"was having a bad day."
He hit her hard on the head
to shut her up,
women don't talk back
where he was from.

Fearing the worst
he scooped her up
and rigged the
deception around her neck,
little did he realize
she had not yet expired.

That is just an effed up way to die. People should't die over something as stupid as a few words about noise.

AJ~ it's so sad how innocent people tragically lose their lives at the hands of others. How can anybody do such a callous act and to say that "he was having a bad day"
Nothing we say or do can ever bring back them back. Even the justice system does not do them justice. Now her daughter must grow up without her caring loving mother at her side. This breaks my heart. I shed tears and said a prayer.
A very well written dedication that brings tears to fill ones eyes.
Well done and thank you so much for sharing this with us my dear friend.
with love, hugs n prayers ur fan/friend,
dreamer
who is just so sad after reading this and Crow's write If :-(

Can't say as I know of her, but what an awful reality...to have someone take the choice of life away...

I love the candles & pics!
Beautiful dedication!

I too, am unfamiliar with this beautiful woman .. but
am very distressed at reading this piece.

AJ, your dedication was very thought inducing.
Such a shameful world we live in, I sometimes think.

Thank you for sharing this ..

painfully sad indeed, though i don't know her as a actress all the same it's a human soul snuffed out because another man's greed. Truly a sorry state of a human world.

Your poem carries the sincerity of a well written docu-drama. This is a wonderful tribute to one you must have great compassion for. Well done.

Kudos on the presentation of this piece. Makes it even more powerful. I too am unfamiliar with the actress, but you have effectively brought a wisp of pain to our hearts with this work. Excellent.

Such an incredible piece Yang. Filling me with total sadness for what was a beautiful soul.
It is in these times I am so perplexed by the journey of a life and the message we are to hear.
